General Target Audience Appeal: By the comedic aspect of the trailer, this makes it more enjoyable and lighthearted than the usual serious action films we see. This be the film's unique selling point which will entice their target audience which is a younger demographic to watch their films. Having Robert Downey Jr. as a main cast member also generates a bigger audience appeal because the actor has played many lead roles in other superhero films, such as Iron Man and Captain America: Civil War. As the film is being made by Marvel Entertainment, fans of the comic book series are going to watch the film to see an infamous character in a motion picture. Split

Target Audience Appeal: Split demonstrates the conventional features of a thriller film within its trailer. This makes it appealing to an audience that enjoys watching films of this genre. As the film has a sub-genre of psychological, this appeals greatly to the young adult audience age range (14+). Also members of the cast, being mid-late teens, makes the viewers sympathise with them. Target Audience Appeal: Drama Moonlight is a coming-of-age drama, focusing on the life of a black male and his time growing up in Miami. From the trailer, the story is told through flashbacks ad present day interactions. This unique selling point could draw audiences to watch it. Similarly, this storytelling technique was used in the popular 2008 film, Slumdog Millionaire. As this film was popular, gaining $377.9 million in box office profits, I think fans of Slumdog Millionaire would be interested in this film, as the trailer portrays them as having many of the same themes and of a coming-of-age sub-genre. As the protagonist is growing up surrounded by gangs in the US, this would also appeal to members of a similar community as they would find the tribulations of the protagonist to be relatable and will automatically sympathise with them personally. Target Audience Appeal: Family and Kids As the film is being produced by Disney Pixar, a leading company in the film industry and well known for their family movies, this already has a generated audience that enjoy their animated films. I also think this film will appeal to audiences that live in Mexico and Latin America. The film is based around a Mexican boy and has aspects that links to a cultural festival (Day of the Dead) which could encourage the audience to watch the film to see how their culture is being portrayed.
