In this task, we are converting our script into a visual storyboard, this will help with film as well as adding a visual element for how we want our trailer to go. As a group, we planned out the storyboard on paper first, deciding to present it by shot rather than frame or transition.
From my role as the writer, I feel the storyboard is an easier way at visually communicating how the run of the trailer will go. The storyboard is presented by short which breaks down how we will film the trailer, in addition to us braking down what is needed for each shot. Final storyboard

Final Prop Selection
1. Moodboards |
ParkA park will be used in the first scene of the trailer which depicts Chelsea and Milo walking leisurely through the park towards the swing set in the kids' play ground. The moodboard shows the inspiration we have for the scene of their being a path in the park where the characters walk along and at least a swing set for them to use. I also included autumnal trees to reflect the season in which we would be filming this scene. |
School For the first school scene, we need an area that looks like a study area, where Chelsea and Milo are independently working. For this scene we want either a classroom or a library setting. The final school scene has Chelsea and Milo walking down a corridor together needs to be filmed in a school hallway. This final scene would fit better with a hallway or staircase that is loosely framed to highlight Chelsea's loneliness as well as her relationship with Milo. |
Roof For this scene we plan for Chelsea to be sitting on the roof of either a house/commercial building, or the top level of a car park. The moodboard includes images of the sun setting which is the time of day we would like to be shooting this scene. This will make Chelsea's profile look like a silhouette with minimal detail and foreshadowing (and symbolising) the problems that she faces in the film. |
Home In this scene, Chelsea and Milo are having a movie night in. The moodboard gives inspiration to the 'comfy' atmosphere that needs to be portrayed. This will be achieved with a dark room, preferably a living room or bedroom. It will also set the scene if there is loads of cushions and a table full of food and snacks laid out in front of the sofa (where Chelsea and Milo will be sitting). |
School Corridor This is the final scene of the trailer and it features Chelsea walking down a school corridor alone before Milo comes in behind her and walks with her. We decided to do this in a school corridor because we want to emphasise Chelsea's Loneliness with the emptiness of the corridor. This will also make Milo more easy to see when he comes up behind her. |
House Party Chelsea is seen at a party with a lot of people, when she looks at her phone. The moodboard highlights the atmosphere we want to create with the party scene. We want the shot to be tightly framed with people, to give the illusion of a traditional teen house party. We also want the room to be dark. This will also add to Chelsea's mood in the scene. |
